Here at Guildford URC, we have a range of activities throughout the week that are aimed at our children and young people.

Our Children and Families worker, Nicky, is on hand to welcome you to our children, youth and family activities.

GURC works in partnership with Saint Nicolas Church, down the hill, and Nicky’s role covers both churches. For more children’s activities, based at Saint Nicolas, please follow this link.

Weekly activities
Rainbow club
Rainbow Club runs during our Sunday morning services at 10.30am in the Jubilee Room. The children share in the first 15 minutes of the service before leaving for Rainbow Club.
Rainbow club is an opportunity to explore the bible story in a creative way through making, baking, playing, music and storyboxes.
This group is open to children up to 11 years old.

Little GURCkins

Little GURCkins runs from 10 – 11:30am, excluding Bank Holidays, in the Main Hall.
Receive a warm and friendly welcome from Nicky, Heather, Jackie and Brian who run Little GURCkins at Guildford URC.
Refreshments, including tea and coffee are available for adults and children alongside a wide range of toys and a craft activity.
After tidy up time at 11:15am we sit down and enjoy singing nursery rhymes together.
Do I need to book?
No! Just turn up on the day and sign in.
Do you have baby changing faciliites?
Yes! Located on the middle floor of the building near the south entrance.
Is there free parking available at church?
Yes! free parking is available during your stay, please use the white bays only.
How do I access the main hall?
When entering the building, please come to the front of church, Portsmouth Rd side and walk around to the right-hand side of the building and through the door. On entering the building go right to enter the hall.
Do I have to pay?
No! There is simply a suggested donation of £1 to cover cost of drinks and snacks.
Movers and Shakers
Movers and Shakers runs during term time after school at 3:30-4:30pm.
Children under 5 are invited to join Gillian in the Choir Room with their parents to sing nursery rhymes, worship songs and have a go with a range of instruments.
Children in school years R-2 are invited to join Nicky in the Sanctuary to learn contemporary worship songs and other modern music genres, play musical games and have a go at playing and making instruments. Parents are invited to watch from the foyer and enjoy refreshments whilst they wait.
There are drinks and snacks available at this session for children and adults. This activity is free of charge.

Pizzas@8 runs on the last Friday of the month in the Lower Hall from 7:30-9:00pm.
Pizzas@8 aims to empower young people to create a youth group that works for them.
We want to encourage young people to create a space that is for them and reflects who they are.
What happens at Pizzas@8?
The clue is in the name ‘Pizzas@8’ but we meet at 7.30 usally to eat and make pizza!
Making pizza, chatting, playing games, thinking and having fun together. We usually go out once a term for an activity for example, bowling, go karting etc.
Open to School Years 7 and above.

Little Fishes
Little Fishes is for pre-school children from 0 – 4 years old with their parents.
Little Fishes happens on the last Friday of each month at 11:00am in the Sanctuary.
Refreshments are available on arrival and throughout the morning. Singing, story, play, making simple crafts and sharing lunch together.
You are very warmly invited to share lunch with the group, there is always lots of food to share and if you would like to bring something to share, that would be lovely!

Messy Church
Messy Church is worship for all-ages young and old alike. We have lots of fun, make music, share stories and think together, make lots of different crafts and finish each Messy Church with a meal for everyone. We especially enjoy making some of the food that we eat in our shared meal.
Messy Church takes place on the first Saturday of every month, 4-6pm, currently at Guildford URC.

Café Church
Café Church takes place on the last Sunday of the month from 4-6pm sitting around tables to worship, chat, make, do and – most importantly – share food together. Café Church is shaped to be for all ages together.
